Leadership in the era of digitalization and its effect on the employee performance

The work presented is connected to the studies of the transformational leadership characteristics in the era of digitalization, its appliance in the digitalized company and the effect of the transformational leadership practices on the employee performance. Nowadays, the world is becoming more and more digital and therefore there is a need to transform the services and/or products provided by the companies to be suitable for the new business requirements created on the market. Due to the abovementioned requirements and the willingness of the companies to become more digital while keeping the employee performance level to the maximum, this research has been conducted and its emphasis is to provide the insight on the digitalized company’s leadership practices applied in the real life scenatios and at the same time examine the shift in the employee performance due to these implemented leadership attributes. It is to be noted that the examination of the transformational leadership activities has been linked to the extensive literatiture review and the prevailing transformational leadership theories and the criteria for the assessment have been defined according to the same theoretical background. Two phases of the research data gathering have been performed within this scientific work: first, qualitative data has been gathered by administering the interviews with seven leaders of digitalized companies, and the second phase has unified the answers provided by the leaders of digitalized companies with the theoretical foundation and based on the quantitative data obtained by sending the questionnaire to more than 200 people who are supported by the leaders interviewed. Data has been processed and in order to improve the existing leadership behavior in the digitalized companies and understand how these improvements affect the talent’s employee performance, certain recommendations have been provided to the leaders of the digitalized companies and the company itself. Understanding the limitations existing in the research, the work is intended for improving the transformational leadership and employee performance associated with it in the digitalized company, which is one of the main contributions of this present scientific work. It serves as a good example for the similar digitalized companies and opens the doors to the current and future research.

Motivation as a tool for performance management is the topic of this thesis. At the beginning of the thesis is discussed theoretical part. This section covers the basic idea of motivation and its impact on human resources management and thus staff. On the basis of professional materials studied are set out the main motivational theories that affect the behavior and performance of employees. Following by a survey contained in the practical part. The questionnaire was developed based on motivation theories and their mentioned factors influencing the performance of employees. The questionnaire addressed communication, relationships, motivation and work process. Included are basic elements of the motives and demotivation, covering aspects of employee satisfaction on various factors at work. Survey results should thus serve as a way to improve the incentive system of the organization and provision of the draft resolution. Thus, the proposed solutions should ideally lead to more efficient performance of the work in the organization.

The thesis deals with the employee motivation in order to manage their performance. The theoretical part of this thesis describes the relationship between work performance and motivation. In the theoretical basis are defined basic terms related to the issue, listed are the major theories of motivation and described are the motivational factors affecting the work performance. In the practical part are presented results of a questionnaire survey that was carried out in the company Klenoty Aurum s. r. o. At the beginning of the practical part is introduced the company Klenoty Aurum s. r. o., including its origin, history and business activities. Subsequently is introduced motivational program of the company which includes employee benefits. In the following chapter of the practical part are presented the results of the mentioned questionnaire survey that was carried out in this company. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to determine how employees look upon the motivational program of the company and how are they satisfied with their working conditions. Based on the identified informations are suggested recommendations for company executives in order to increase the motivation of their employees with the intent to manage their performance.
Managerial skills

This Thesis is focused on the managerial skills of the whole team real estate brokers in company Realitní kancelář Pubec, s.r.o. This Thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part of Thesis, the theoretical basis, explains who is the manager and his personality, managerial roles and function, management and skills in detail. There is explained also the difference between a leader and a manager.The comparison if the most important personalities´ attitudes in the area of management is located in the theoretical part of Masters´s thesis. In the second part is characterized the chosen subject - Realitní kancelář Pubec. The survey is based on questionnaire, which is structured into four main parts (general information, importance of soft skills, soft skills self-assessmnet and opened questions), and interviewing the whole team in the company in order to gain more information and feedback. The results are also compared with theoretical assumptions which are formulated in the first part of Thesis. There are results and its evaluation of every single part of the questionnaire in the end of Thesis. Final chapter is dedicated to possibilites of future progress of management skills.
Employee Motivation

This bachelor thesis deals with solution of problems related with motivation of employees and improving process of motivation. Bachelor thesis divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. First part based on research of academic writing. Human resource management, motivation theory, types of motivation, methods of motivation, definitions of motive and stimulus, evaluation of work performance and motivation plan of company are explained in detail. Practical part describes a selected company Shin-Line, defines an organizational structure and offered benefits for employees. Through questionnaire research are identified the main motives, unsatisfied motives of employees and methods, which managers use for motivating their employees. Based on results of research were offered solutions to a lack of motivation plan of present case study, which should help to improve work motivation for increasing work performance and raising satisfaction of employees.
Managerial skills

The main focus of the thesis entitled Managerial skills are various areas of managerial skills which are essential for management of certain working positions and therefore necessary for efficient functioning of the whole organization. It addresses issues of the current level of managerial skills and their possible reinforcement in future. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part consists of theoretical sources dealing with topics such as manager´s personality profile, his or her personality features, knowledge and competences, and last but not least managerial roles and functions. The attention is mainly paid to soft managerial skills. The second, analytical part, characterizes a chosen company and then performs analysis of the current level of employees´ managerial skills at one working position. This analysis is based on data acquired from a questionnaire research and a pen and paper interview with an employee of the organization. On the basis of foregone steps some proposals are set for strengthening the researched managerial skills in the organization. Implementation of these enhancements assumes simultaneous increase in the standards of several employees´ soft skills, which can positively influence the quality and increase of their performance and as a result improve the functioning of the whole organization.

The thesis deals with the issue of employee motivation, which serves as a convenient tool to manage their job performance. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of basic concepts related to the topic. Are defined terms which relate to human resources and their planning and subsequent management, work performance and its objectives, management and evaluation. This section also deals with motivation, sources, types, processes and various theories, motivational types of people and incentive programs. The theoretical part also describes the relationship between work performance and motivation. In the practical part is introduced by ABC Ltd., its origin, history and focus, are defined by their principles, provided employee benefits, benefits and other programs designed for company employees. The most important chapters of this section are those that concentrate on research conducted satisfaction and motivation of its employees, its subsequent analysis, assessment of the current situation and possible proposals for changes in the company's incentive system, along with their benefits. The research was conducted using the method of questionnaire survey, a structured questionnaire.

This diploma thesis on Motivation as a tool of performance management deal with the issue of motivating employees espicialy in company Vimbau s.r.o. reside in Prague 4 Libuš. The work is divided into two parts, part theoretical and practical. Theoretical part deal with summary od theoretical findings of chosen issue stated in available literature and online sources. Trehe are explaned basic ideas related on motivation of employees performance. Practical part is focused on analysis of actual conditions of motivation proces in chosen company, next on formulation of suitable changes to improve the motivation program and better employees performance. The basic data have been founded out with the exploration done with quesstionare survery. The mission of the guesstionare was to indentify problems conected with motivation in company for the best proposal changes of motivation program. The results od guesstionare survery are clearly grafic expressed in tables and graphs with comments.

The thesis deals with motivation as a tool that influences the performance. The first part discusses the issue of motivation in theoretical way and incudes concepts as human resources management, performance, efficiency, motivation, incentive program or frustration and stress. The theoretical part is based on the study of literature sources that deal with certain issues. Gained knowledge are subsequently transferred into practice and use in examining the motivation of specific group of employees in Hays Recruitment Agency, Czech Republic. Motivational process of the company is solved in the second part of the thesis. This part also determines how employees perceive the current incentive program. One of the steps is also discover if the company satisfies the 3 main areas of needs of their employees. (existence, relatedness, growth).

This thesis pays attention to managing skills and their influence on a working performance. The purpose of each organization is focused on the highest possible productivity. Highly competent and qualified managers are necessary in order to reach this goal. The first part of the thesis includes theoretical foundations based on the expert bibliography. The main terms concerning the management and the performance are described here. It includes the definition of the term "the manager" and what his/her skills, roles and tasks are. Further the Česká správa sociálního zabezpečení (the Czech Social Services, state organization) organization is described here. The analysis of a questionnaire concerning the management skills and their level and importance for the organization and the working performance follows. The final part of the thesis describes the conclusions of the questionnaire and the recommendations of what management skills are recommended to be improved in order to increase the productivity of the organization.
